Your Role With Us:If you like excitement, challenges and providing exceptional patient care all while working in one of the busiest emergency departments on the west coast, then you might be an ideal fit for the ER Tech-UAP position. You will provide patient care as directed by a RN within their authorized duties. You will need to be flexible, self-motivated and willing to work with a vast variety of patient care assignments. Total Rewards Offerings: Salem Health's comprehensive benefits package prioritizes your mental and physical health, financial stability, family obligations and professional growth.Relocation assistance available for qualified positionsFull comprehensive medical, dental, and vision plansBasic and voluntary life insuranceShort and long-term disabilityLive Well Wellness ProgramEmployee Assistance Program (EAP) 401(K) retirement plan with employer contributions.Generous paid time off (PTO) accrual and holiday pay Onsite fitness center with 24/7 badge accessEducation assistance programPublic service loan forgiveness (PSLF) eligible employer https://studentaid.gov/Food and drink discounts in the cafeteriaImpressive discounts offered by Nike, Adidas, Carhartt and othersRequirements:Required - One (1) year of recent experience in acute care, ambulatory care, Emergency Medical Service setting in at least ONE (1) of the following - CNA, EMT B, AEMT or EMT-P, Previous experience as an ED Tech or in a comparable role (i.e. CMA, UAP, Acute Care of ambulatory setting).Background/Expertise:High School diploma or equivalent education required.Prefer phlebotomy skills and one year of recent experience in pre-hospital (EMS) or an emergency department or completion of one (1) year of nursing school within the last two (2) years is preferred.Ortho splinting experienced is also preferred.Core Functions:Perform duties as designated by the leadership team/ or Charge RN.Perform basic patient care duties: undress patients and place into gown, monitor vital signs and document in EPIC, assist with toileting needs, ambulating patients, etc.Prioritize a variety of patient care and multi-task within skill and unit maintenance assignments.Accurately document pertinent patient information using verbal, written and electronic communication according to ED policy procedures and standards and time frames.Function as a member of the care team, assisting in the care of all patients within area assignments.Perform EKGs on a regular basis.Provide 1:1 observations for patient safety in accordance with training.Assist in high pressure situations (i.e. code blue code 3 medic and trauma patients).Salem Health Hospitals and Clinics is an equal opportunity employer.
