Prepares and delivers medications to patients and/or nursing units under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist/licensed independent practitioner. Online classroom training through Pharmacy Technician University. (Must pass Reading Comprehension and Math Pre-enrollment Assessments in three attempts or less. A minimum score of 70% is required for each assessment prior to acceptance into the program). Experiential training in our state-of-the-art pharmacy, Preparation for passing the national certification exam. Candidates accepting a position will continue in their role as a pharmacy technician after completing the program and achieving their Virginia Registration. Candidates must complete Pharmacy Technician University and achieve registration within 2 years of employment.
Fills and delivers medications under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist/licensed independent practitioner. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Education: High School Graduate or Equivalent. Experience: No experience required. Licensure: Registration as a Pharmacy Technician with the Virginia Board of Pharmacy within 2 years of hire required. Must register as a Pharmacy Technician Trainee upon hire with the Virginia Board of Pharmacy. Persons enrolled in a pharmacy technician training program must obtain a pharmacy technician trainee registration if they will be performing the duties of a pharmacy technician.
