Neuroscience Faculty Positions | UCSF Department of Neurology and the Weill Institute for Neurosciences, UCSF School of Medicine

The Department of Neurology at UCSF is searching for energetic, visionary neuroscientists to join the outstanding neuroscience community at UCSF. Depending on their training, career standing, and academic focus, selected candidates will be proposed for faculty positions within the divisions of Alcohol and Addiction Research or Mechanisms of Neurological Disorders.

Qualified candidates will possess a medical and/or doctoral degree, postdoctoral and/or post-MD residency training in their stated field, and a demonstrated record of publication and extramural support at the time of hire; application materials must state qualifications (or explain if pending) upon submission. Competitive applicants will address fundamental aspects of brain function that relate to behavior in their research; preference will be given to applicants whose research is relevant to neurological and/or behavioral disorders and has led to impactful publications and competitive extramural support.

Neurology faculty are expected to provide robust laboratory teaching and mentoring to graduate students, postdoctoral fellows, other trainees, and laboratory staff. The posted UC salary scales set the minimum pay determined by rank and step at appointment. See Table 5. The minimum base salary range for this position is $118,000-$333,700. This position includes membership in the health sciences compensation plan which provides for eligibility for additional compensation.

For positions that are 50% effort or less:

See Table 2 for the salary range for this position. A reasonable estimate for this position is $90,700-$238,300.
