Job Summary

The Director of Nursing for the Maternal, Fetal, and Neonatal Institute (MFNI) is a key member of the nursing leadership team and is responsible for assisting with implementing strategies in MFNI. This position supports the continuum of care for women and infants and is responsible for outpatient care at multiple locations. The Director of Nursing is responsible for nursing practice, operations oversight, financial management, quality and safety monitoring, and clinical work. In support of professional nursing practice, the Director of Nursing provides leadership and creates a culture that supports the delivery of patient-centered, specialized, evidence-based nursing care across the continuum through an inter-professional approach to treatment, research, education, and advocacy. This position contributes to the goals of Nursing and Patient Care Services by being accountable for the delivery of compassionate and safe care within the scope of practice as defined by the Florida Board of Nursing and JHACH policy. The professional practice of nursing at JHACH involves the promotion of a culture of innovation and a commitment to academic growth and professional development. The Director of Nursing works closely with all members of the leadership team including other inter-professional care team members to ensure alignment with the clinical and academic mission of the organization. Through collaborative practice with all members of the care team, this role is responsible for patient outcomes that meet the high quality of care provided by JHACH. The Director of Nursing will be responsible for building and maintaining relationships within the institute, outpatient care centers, affiliate organizations, and community care providers. This leader consistently demonstrates and promotes the values of JHACH.

Qualifications:




  • Current Florida RN Licensure.
  • A Bachelor's of Science Degree in Nursing required; a Master's degree in Nursing or related field required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive leadership experience
  • Minimum of five years of experience in an academic medical center or hospital/clinic environment or a health care integrated delivery system, preferred
  • Demonstrated experience leading ambulatory performance improvement, quality initiatives and/or revenue efficiency projects.
  • Specialty certification required. Certified as a Nurse Executive by the American Nurse's Credentialing Center or American Organization of Nurse Executives preferred.
  • Working knowledge and understanding of a Magnet-designated nursing organization and the ability to provide guidance and support to achieve and maintain designation.
  • An effective communicator with strong oral and written skills; reads, writes, and understands English; ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, and proficiency in presentation.
