Position Details:




  • 36 hours/week; benefitted
  • 12-hour shift rotating 7a-7:30p and 7p-7:30a



Clinical Technicians at The Johns Hopkins Hospital have the opportunity to provide highly skilled and compassionate patient- and family-centered care as contributing members of the healthcare team. Ongoing education is provided to all Clinical Technicians to ensure that all techs perform at the highest level of their certification and scope of practice. During your first year, you will have the opportunity to attend eight days of training off the unit, which provide interactive learning activities to support your personal and professional development.

The Johns Hopkins Hospital- Bloomberg 10 South is a general care pediatric medical/surgical unit that cares for patients ranging in age from 5-13 years. The medical patients on the unit may have such diagnoses as: asthma, cystic fibrosis, diabetes, renal failure and seizures. The surgical patients are a variety of different services including: Orthopedics, ENT, General Pediatric Surgery, Genitourinary Surgery, Neurosurgery and Plastic Surgery. The unit is also the Pediatric Burn Unit for the region. Burn victims from infancy through the age of 14 are admitted to the unit. The unit includes four beds designated as the Pediatric EMU (Epilepsy Monitoring Unit).

Education/Experience:




  • High School Diploma or High School Equivalency Diploma.
  • One year of clinical experience e.g., home care, outpatient, acute care (hospital preferred) technician experience during the most recent two years in a setting relevant to the unit; volunteer work as EMT or CRT may be considered.



Licensure/Certifications:




  • Nursing Assistant Certification from the Maryland Board of Nursing required.
  • Current CPR certification
