The opportunity

This role is part of the IT Americas Applications; Performance & Improvements team and supports Agile teams and their managers in the region. You will work closely with Agile team members to ensure adoption of the Agile approach and best practices so that the teams can deliver the most value to Michelin in a continuous value flow without compromising quality.

What you will do

Exhibit solid understanding of Agile Value and Principles and how those translate to practical implementation in the teams.

Coach teams to self-assess performance and deliver continuous improvements; collaborate with the Global Lean & Agile coach team.

Teach and coach the full Agile iterative and incremental process from Discovery to Delivery.

Coach teams using different frameworks (Scrum, Kanban, SAFe, etc.); mentor teams and individuals as needed on the tough issues they may be facing in their Agile journeys.

Coach Managers on ways to support their teams in the Agile maturity, ensuring Agile Team Leads are well equipped to serve as guarantors of the Agile mentality & practices within their team.

Assist managers with coaching their teams and providing the right environment to encourage Agile adoption; researching topics related to Agile and bringing new content, activities and thought patterns to the Michelin teams.

Support the evaluation and improvement of team performance and delivery with Gemba's and assessments (Agile Maturity Survey, Ever blue Journey Assessment, Accelerate Performance Metrics, Product Approach, etc.)

What you will bring

Ability to successfully train individuals and teams on new concepts, anchoring their learning with the WHY behind each concept

Be able to inspire teams to adopt Agile using your enthusiasm and experiences with Agile

Have good awareness of when a coaching posture is needed vs a teaching/directive one (e.g., being able to help others find their own solutions rather than prescribing your solutions).

Ability to observe the activities of a team and zero in on where they may need help or support.

Flexibility to meet people where they are on their Agile journey; this includes developing the trust and respect to help individuals and teams through potentially difficult self-discovery.

Ability to coach and work at all levels of the organization and achieve desired results.

Qualifications

  • 3 to 5 years working in an Agile team is required.
  • Demonstrable ability to coach is required; Agile coaching experience is preferred.
  • Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent experience) or higher.
  • CSM, CSPO, ICP-ACC (IC Agile Coaching Certification) is a plus, but is not a substitution for experience in Agile.
  • Management or Leadership experience preferred.
  • Solid understanding of Lean concepts and methodologies; Green Belt certification is a plus.
  • Excellent communications skills. The ability to communicate ideas, concepts, concrete practices, give feedback etc.
  • Experience using Jira Agile, Miro, Online Retro Tools (ex: MetroRetro), Planning Poker, Quiz Tools (ex: Kahoot!)
