Position Summary

The UNM
Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences
is eager to put together
the right package for an individual with a passion for adult inpatient
psychiatry and teaching, coupled with an interest in joining a team of
talented, caring and committed faculty members. Applications are being accepted for an academic faculty psychiatrist,
suitable for appointment at the rank of Assistant, Associate, or full
Professor, for a position as an inpatient attending psychiatrist on our
Adult Psychiatry Division's Inpatient Service
. The clinical assignment will be at UNM
Psychiatric Center. The successful
candidate can take full advantage of the opportunities available in our vibrant
and active academic community.

As an attending
psychiatrist in our 36-bed adult psychiatry inpatient service, the person
selected will have a voice in developing the unit's direction as well as
opportunities for multicultural clinical care and scholarly and collaborative
research activities across the Health Sciences campus. There are many opportunities for professional
development in leadership, administration, and education, including mentoring
and supervision of medical students, residents, fellows, and trainees in
related disciplines.

Salary and
academic rank are commensurate with experience and academic background.


Qualifications


Minimum
Qualifications:

  • Doctorate
    Degree (MD or equivalent);
  • Board certified
    or board eligible in General Psychiatry;
  • Clinical
    experience - minimum 1 year;
  • Licensable in
    New Mexico;
  • Must be
    eligible to work in the United States.

Preferred
Qualifications:

  • Educational,
    teaching and supervision experience with residents, fellows and medical
    students;
  • Clinical
    leadership experience in an academic setting;
  • A demonstrated
    commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and student success, as well as
    working with broadly diverse communities.
