Job Description

The Department of Neurosurgery at the University of Missouri is pleased to announce the opening of an Office Support Assistant IV position. This position is responsible for assisting with the scheduling needs of the Neurosurgery patient population. All duties must be performed with a very high degree of customer service.

Description of job duties primarily include:

  • Answering patient related phone calls for providers in the Department of Neurosurgery. Provide clear and concise communication to providers and staff.
  • Assist, work, and monitor referral management queue to coordinate all neurosurgery referrals, including scheduling of the new appointments and completing paperwork associated with new referrals.
  • Coordinate discharge appointments for patients leaving the hospital, including scheduling of ancillary testing and coordination with other services.
  • Use excellent guest relations skills in all interactions when providing patients with information regarding their appointments, directions to locations, and special instructions regarding their care.
  • Manage patient films received in the office by uploading to the radiology system. Mail reports, correspondence, and letters to referring physicians.
  • Retrieve, sort, open and distribute mail.
  • Greet visitors as they enter division office and route them to the appropriate individuals.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Shift

Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent and at least 5 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary.

Preferred Qualifications

Additional Training: Previous knowledge of Revenue Cycle and Powerchart is preferred, but not required
Leadership Approach: Proof of progressively increasing responsibilities in a professional office setting is necessary.

Hiring Range: $18.00 - $22.00
