Summary of Position |
The Department of Security Studies at the University of New Hampshire seeks a motivated faculty member with an expertise in cybersecurity for a full-time, benefited, non-tenure track position to teach a 3/3 load in the Homeland Security undergraduate B.S. degree program. The Program has a unique interdisciplinary approach to homeland security and emergency management that prepares students for a wide variety of security-related areas in government and private sector risk management careers. This position has an anticipated start date of August 2025. This is a nine-month, academic year position with the possibility of summer teaching.
The successful candidate will teach in person courses on the Durham campus across a variety of core courses in the
HLS discipline and program, which will include
HLS 455 Introduction to Cybersecurity and future related undergraduate cybersecurity courses.
The candidate will also teach a subset of the following courses:
HLS 415 Corporate Security;
HLS 480 Professional Skills in Homeland Security;
HLS 510 Fundamentals of Emergency Management;
HLS 515 Critical Infrastructure Security and Resilience;
HLS 520 Homeland Security Law and Policy; applied research methods and statistics; contributing to
HLS 790 senior capstone projects. Other duties could include course design and development of upper-level undergraduate cybersecurity curriculum, online teaching, and participation in department and program initiatives.
This is a nine-month, academic year position with the possibility of summer teaching. Candidates with professional experience in cybersecurity policy or emerging technology and security are encouraged to apply.
