Hybrid Role: Must be able to come on-site periodically and reside a commutable distance from the assigned work location.

Emergency Response: Yes - Must be available to perform a primary assignment in support of DTE's emergency response to storms or other events that impact service to our customers.

Job Summary

This is an entry level position assisting in the planning, execution and monitoring of DTE's Community Engagement efforts to the company's overall credibility and reputation. Works with group leader and other team members to develop recommendations, specific program enhancements and expansions. Represents DTE externally at events assists with building relationships with external stakeholders and organizations. Supports and assists more senior level Program Managers in one of the following areas: Multi-Cultural Outreach, Faith-Based Outreach, Community Outreach, Employee Fundraising (United Way), Leader Outreach, Volunteerism or Neighborhood Revitalization. Span of Controls: 0; Individual Contributor role

Key Accountabilities
  • Engages in the daily execution of assigned Community Engagement program activities, including logistical support for both ongoing work and specific events. Provide logistical support to other Community Engagement programs as needed
  • Works with cross-functional teams within Community Engagement, across the company, and with external organizations to implement programs
  • Assists with gathering data, monitoring and reporting specific program metrics that support the overall Community Engagement and Corporate scorecards. Assists with maintaining and updating database of relevant community events and contacts
  • Assists in the preparation of presentations and business cases related to the Community Engagement programs
  • Supports the company's community van deployment efforts, which assistcustomers impacted by power outages
  • Plans and implements community activities and strategic community events that support operations improvements
  • Utilizes Continuous Improvement principles, methods, and tools in developing and implementing programs and identifying or improving processes
  • Participates in ongoing program evaluation through after-action reviews and other effectiveness reviews to help determine improvements or recommendations
  • Represents the Program Manager at cross functional meetings as needed
  • Represents DTE with external organizations as needed
Minimum Education & Experience Requirements

Bachelor's degree in the following disciplines: public policy, communications, business administration, or marketing.

  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with people inside and outside the company
  • Ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines in a fast paced environment and often changing priorities
  • Willingness to assist on programs in other Community Engagement areas
  • Analytical and problem solving skills
  • Computer skills including MS PowerPoint, MS Excel, MS Word & MS SharePoint
  • Consulting/influencing skills to build relationships and influence decisions
  • Ability to work with a variety of people and groups to achieve effective and efficient results
  • Ability to attend external events during and outside of normal work hours
  • Local/Regional travel required
