Summary:
Perform electrocardiography on all age groups of patients to record the heart's electrical activity.
Responsibilities:
1. Performs electrocardiography testing using various instruments.
2. Operate electrocardiograph equipment to record the electromotive variations in heart muscle actions.
3. Prepare patient for electrocardiogram by explaining testing procedures and fastening electrodes to specific areas of arms, legs, and chest.
4. Enter patient information into electrocardiograph including history number and patient's name.
5. Remove electrodes; add billing charge to requisition slip; review electrocardiogram for technical acceptability and rate.
6. Downloads and scans Holter monitors for interpretation by physician; code and distribute EKG data; record and file information relating to tests performed.
7. Assists other Cardiology staff members to ensure timely treatment.
8. Clean, adjust and perform routine maintenance on equipment to ensure proper functioning.
9. Assist in the training of new personnel.
10. Perform other duties as assigned.

Education Requirements:
* None required as long as other position qualifications are met
Licensure/Certification Requirements:
* Certification from a nationally recognized company in electrocardiography.
* BLS required.

* No prior experience required.
