Summary
The Knowledge Specialist provides a pivotal role in capturing, organizing, and disseminating knowledge related to various aspects of program solutions. This position requires technical expertise in solutions, a commitment to user support and training, proficiency in data management and reporting, a focus on quality assurance and compliance, and strong collaboration and communication skills.

Job Duties

  • Captures, organizes, and maintains knowledge related to program solutions, technical expertise, user support, training materials, data management, reporting processes, SharePoint site administration, quality assurance protocols, and compliance requirements.
  • Develops and updates documentation, manuals, guides, and training materials to support users and stakeholders in utilizing program solutions effectively.
  • Provides technical expertise and support to users, troubleshoots issues, and delivers training sessions as needed.
  • Manages and maintains data repositories, ensuring data integrity, security, and accessibility.
  • Conducts quality assurance checks on program solutions, documentation, and processes to ensure compliance with university standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Fosters a culture of collaboration and communication within the Program Solutions Administration team and across relevant stakeholders.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

KSAs

  • Proficiency in program solutions, technical systems, and tools relevant to higher education administration.
  • Strong understanding of user support principles, training methodologies, and instructional design concepts.
  • Experience in data management, reporting, and analysis using relevant software and platforms.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining quality standards and compliance requirements.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively convey complex information to diverse audiences.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to identifying and addressing challenges.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and refining educational programs, courses, and curricula within the higher education sector.
  • Understanding of accreditation standards, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices related to program development and institutional compliance.
  • Proven ability to design and assess curriculum effectiveness, learning outcomes, and student engagement strategies, particularly within a Competency-based Education model.
  • Knowledge of adult learning theories and principles, including instructional design methodologies tailored to adult learners in diverse academic settings.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with academic departments, faculty members, subject matter experts, and instructional designers to develop and deliver high-quality educational programs.
  • Strong project management skills, including the ability to coordinate cross-functional teams, manage project timelines, and ensure alignment with departmental goals and objectives.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and interpretation to inform program development decisions, assess program efficacy, and identify areas for continuous improvement.
  • Clear and concise communication skills, with the ability to articulate program objectives, outcomes, and value propositions to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Willingness to explore innovative approaches to program development, incorporate emerging technologies, and adapt to evolving trends and student needs in higher education.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Education, Communication, Library Science, or related field.
  • 1+ years experience with online learning platforms, learning management systems (LMS), and educational technologies used in online and hybrid learning environments.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Demonstrated proficiency in program solutions, data management, Sharepoint administration, and user support/training.
  • Familiarity with quality assurance processes and compliance standards in higher education.

The salary range for this position takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs.

At WGU, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their position, and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is:

Pay Range: $49,800.00 - $74,600.00
