Position Summary:

The Global Tax Manager will report to the International Controller and will be responsible for managing the tax planning, compliance, and advisory aspects of international operations, with a specific focus on transfer pricing and corporate structuring. This role requires an in-depth understanding of global tax regulations, international tax treaties, and transfer pricing principles to optimize the company's global tax position and ensure compliance with local and international tax laws. The Tax Manager will collaborate with various internal teams and external advisors to implement tax-efficient corporate structures and handle cross-border transactions.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Transfer Pricing:



  • Develop, implement, and maintain global transfer pricing policies, ensuring compliance with local and international regulations.
  • Conduct functional and economic analyses to determine arm's length pricing for intercompany transactions, including goods, services, royalties, and financing.
  • Prepare transfer pricing documentation (Master File, Local Files, benchmarking studies) to support the company's transfer pricing policies and comply with local country regulations.
  • Lead and manage transfer pricing audits, responding to inquiries from tax authorities and defending the company's transfer pricing methodologies.


International Tax Planning and Compliance:



  • Develop and implement tax strategies to optimize the company's global tax position while ensuring compliance with local tax laws and international tax treaties.
  • Assist in the preparation and review of tax returns for foreign subsidiaries and branches, including calculating and reporting foreign tax credits, Subpart F income, and Global Intangible Low-Taxed Income (GILTI).
  • Monitor changes in international tax laws (e.g., BEPS, OECD guidelines) and assess their impact on the company's global operations.
  • Collaborate with tax advisors in various jurisdictions to ensure compliance with international reporting requirements, such as CbCR (Country-by-Country Reporting).


Corporate Structuring and Cross-Border Transactions:



  • Advise on tax-efficient corporate structuring for global operations, including mergers, acquisitions, reorganizations, and expansions.
  • Evaluate the tax implications of cross-border transactions, including supply chain restructuring, intellectual property migrations, and financing arrangements.
  • Work closely with legal, finance, and business teams to assess and implement optimal corporate structures in line with both commercial and tax objectives.
  • Assist in the design and implementation of international tax planning strategies to mitigate tax risks and ensure compliance.


Tax Risk Management and Reporting:



  • Ensure compliance with international tax reporting requirements, such as FATCA, CFC rules, and foreign withholding tax obligations.
  • Monitor and assess the tax risk exposure in various jurisdictions, providing recommendations to mitigate potential issues.
  • Support the provision for income taxes related to international operations, including FIN 48 (uncertain tax positions) and ASC 740 (income tax accounting) requirements.
  • Analyze and provide tax guidance on foreign tax credits, withholding tax, and the repatriation of foreign earnings.


Collaboration and Stakeholder Management:



  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including finance, accounting, legal, and operations, to support the implementation of tax strategies.
  • Liaise with external advisors, auditors, and tax authorities to ensure compliance and minimize tax liabilities.
  • Provide training and guidance to other internal stakeholders on international tax and transfer pricing matters.
  • In partnership with financial process improvement team, supports development and oversight of required financial systems, policies, procedures, and internal controls.


Education/Experience & Skills:



  • Undergraduate or graduate degree in finance or accounting.
  • 7+ years of related finance/accounting work experience, with a focus on transfer pricing and corporate structuring.
  • Certified Public Accountant and/or international equivalent a plus.
  • Experience preparing and reviewing transfer pricing documentation and working with tax authorities on transfer pricing audits.
  • Strong knowledge of global tax regulations, OECD guidelines, BEPS initiatives, and U.S. international tax laws (e.g., GILTI, Subpart F, FDII).
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to identifying and addressing tax risks.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, with the ability to present complex tax concepts to non-tax professionals.
  • Well organized, detail oriented, and self-directed with the ability to relate to all levels of an organization.
  • Knowledge of finance and accounting controls, policies, and procedures and the ability to provide solutions to control issues.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
  • Experience with accounting systems, such as but not limited to Hyperion, Oracle, UKG.


Working Conditions:



  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working at a computer using a keyboard and mouse performing repetitive tasks.
  • Ability to open file cabinets, reach with hands and arms, bend, and twist, lift and move files.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
  • Must wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) where required.
  • Must comply with all work exposure EH&S training requirements and adhere to SIG SAUER Inc. Security Mandates.
