Systems Support Technician

Summary

The Systems Support Technician I is a member of the I.T. support team. This position provides end-user computer support at all levels. In addition to end-user support, this position assists with the installation, maintenance and general support of desktops, laptops, and other systems and devices falling under the I.T. Department's responsibility.


Qualifications

Essential Duties and Responsibilities




  1. Promotes the Company's mission and values based culture by delivering quality service and support to all consumers of PlayCore I.T. services.
  2. Responds to support tickets, telephone calls, e-mail and direct requests for technical support. Encourages use of support tickets as std request method.
  3. Tracks and monitors each request for support to ensure a timely resolution.
  4. Provides support for all electronic devices and connectivity.
  5. Coordinates resolution of all communication support issues and requests.
  6. Maintains hardware and software inventories. Includes vendor relationships, purchasing, and maintenance contracts.
  7. Trains users on proper network usage and procedures.
  8. Provides coordination with Corp IT Services for Network and Server upgrades/repairs.
  9. Other duties as assigned by Manager or Supervisor

Education and/or Experience



  • Associate's degree in related field, or 2 years relevant work experience
  • Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate - Windows or Microsoft Certified Desktop Technician certification preferred



Travel

Travel in this position is very limited and may only be necessary in relation to the needs of a specific project.

Language Skills

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Must have the ability to effectively, and professionally, communicate through verbal and written means with employees of the organization.

Reasoning Ability

Must have the ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

Computer Skills

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be proficient in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint software. Basic hardware troubleshooting skills are also a requirement.

Other Skills

The ability to work under limited supervision to complete assigned tasks and perform the essential duties and responsibilities expected of this position.
