Description

IDEAL is seeking a MALE RA for the 2025 Spring Semester. IDEAL is a program for students with intellectual disabilities. The RA position is designed for student leaders that are willing to invest a large amount of time each week being present with their residents in order to build relationships, positively impact the college living experience and assist the office of Residence Life. RAs are passionately committed to following Christ which is reflected through their actions. In addition, RAs are expected to refrain from participating in activities that may hinder their ability to lead. Resident Assistants (RAs) aid in establishing positive relationships with students and in maintaining the overall operation of the residence halls. May be Federal Work Study eligible.

Requirements:



  1. A student at Lipscomb University who personally supports the objectives and policies of the university.
  2. Must have a 2.50 grade-point average upon application and must not be on any type of official probation (academic, behavior, Bible, or chapel) during his/her employment.
  3. Personal attributes of high caliber (i.e., maturity, integrity, spirituality, dependability, unselfishness, sensitivity, commitment to service) as determined by application, references, and interviews.
  4. Capable of maintaining confidentiality with regard to personal student problems and privileged information discussed in staff meetings.
  5. Must be able to devote up to 18 hours per week to the Resident Assistant job.
  6. Must have two free nights (no classes, no club meetings, no practice, etc.).
  7. Must be available and on-campus during the weekends. The IDEAL Residential Coordinator will work with RA staff for weekends off.
  8. Must have experience with individuals with disabilities and a willingness to learn how to help promote their goals of independence and social growth.
