About the role

The Lead Operator is responsible for assisting the Blending Supervisor(s) in obtaining scheduled blending volumes, completing other blending oriented goals, and maintaining a high level of product quality while insuring adherence to plant SOP's, GMP's and plant safety requirements. Strict adherence to HACCP, Food Safety, and Food Defense are mandatory.

Sunday - Thursday

9pm - 5am

Your responsibilities

  • Lead by example by following all SOP's, JA's and ensuring all operators are adhering to same.


  • Knowledgeable of every operator position and demonstrates ability to perform each position if needed due to personnel shortages


  • Knowledgeable of the blending flow and demonstrates the ability to identify deficiencies or issues during blending operations that affect efficiencies, quality, and throughput


  • Ability to troubleshoot equipment failures and resolve issues


  • Knowledgeable of all paperwork and flow


  • Proficient in the accurate and detailed completion of QI's and NC's


  • Proficient in the detailed completion of work orders
  • Certified to operate a forklift
  • Assists in training new operators
  • Communicates directly with Supervisor(s) with any questions, comments, or concerns


  • Maintains a positive, knowledgeable attitude and works well with all personnel within the facility


  • Works closely with the Quality Technician(s) and reports any quality related incidents or concerns in a timely manner
  • Ensure that all GMP's and personnel/food safety processes are being followed.


  • Completes all other duties as assigned by Supervisor(s)
  • Gathers daily paperwork prior to start up each day
  • Ensure that only the most current forms are being used during production (SOP's, JA's, DLT's, releases, MBR's, etc...)
  • Completes periodic checks of associated operator paperwork throughout the shift
  • Ensure that paperwork is filled out properly and follows up with operators on any identified errors
  • Ensure that checks are getting done on time and follows up on any missed or late checks
  • Reviews paperwork at the end of the shift for accuracy and completeness

The experience we're looking for

  • Attention to detail with a focus on food safety


  • Have good oral and written communication skills


  • Must have the ability to read and understand instructions


  • General computer skills


  • Self-motivated


  • Ability to work with little supervision


  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.


  • Ability to stand for 10 hours or more a day
  • GWINS knowledge and Batch Record review.
  • SAP & ERP system knowledge

US salary ranges

USD$27.50 / Hourly

US pay transparency

The base salary range for this role will vary based on experience in job and industry, training and education, skills relevant to the position, and other factors permitted by law. In addition to the base salary, the position is eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, which is subject to change each year.
