Associate Director, James Imaging

Scope of Position
The Associate Director jointly reports to the Director of Imaging Services and The James Associate Executive Director and has direct oversight of all clinical aspects of the The James inpatient and outpatient sites. This position will be in a dyad partnership with an Oncology Radiologist leader. Imaging Services at OSUWMC encompasses all Radiology and Imaging Services in the Health System, including Interventional suites, MRI, CT, Nuclear Medicine, Diagnostic, and Ultrasound. Imaging services are also provided to decentralized locations within 6 business units at OSUWMC and are networked throughout Central Ohio. Over 500,000 treatments annually provide invasive, noninvasive and therapeutic procedures for the diagnostic, treatment, and prevention of disease for inpatient and outpatient populations. OSUWMC provides care to patients with services 24 hours a day / 7 days a week. The team is committed to the improvement of peoples lives through the delivery of personalized imaging services that consistently exceed expectations in quality and service.

Position Summary
The Associate Director will oversee and further develop an oversight model for The James Imaging cost centers and operational metrics for oncology patients across all sites. Ensuring department(s) are delivering service in a manner scalable for projected growth. The James imaging locations are in the James Cancer Center Tower, The James Outpatient Care at Carmenton, and breast imaging across the region. The technical staff will report through the modality managers. Responsibilities also include monitoring access for oncology patients across all modalities, assisting in budget development and variance reporting, providing recommendations regarding optimizing equipment allocation across the enterprise to Imaging leadership and clinical engineering; and providing leadership to process improvement and optimization efforts, communicating bi-directionally with Radiology faculty, technical staff, and The James leadership team. The associate director is also responsible for the James mammography services across multiple sites. For all modalities within the James, the AD effectively assists in planning technology needs and continually align needs with strategic plans across James sites and in collaboration with department leadership. Identifying equipment that is near the end of life and assessing best strategy for replacement and advocating for prioritization, preparing capital justifications, including purchase, reallocation, and trade-in. Coordinates and directs all quality management, performance improvement, and educational operations within The James imaging department(s), under the direction of the Administrator, Imaging Services and James associate executive director. Responsible for coordinating and documenting James Imaging Quality Assessment functions and departmental patient care standards, reporting out to the QSEC structure, and policy/procedure and maintaining day-to-day operations within department(s). Partners with the radiology oncologic faculty leadership to ensure alignment with physician resources, business plans, and TAT expectations.

Coordinates multiple activities, including: statistical, performance and managerial reporting, decision and budget support, capital planning and execution, and quality and operations improvement initiatives. The associate director will work in close collaboration with Department Leadership across the Medical Center to facilitate progress toward strategic and operational goals. The associate director will collaborate with the departments to ensure operational alignment with system goals.

Minimum Education Required
Bachelor's Level Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience

Required Qualifications
Bachelor of Science degree, A.R.R.T. registry AND/OR, minimum 5 years management experience in applicable area(s) of responsibility, functional knowledge of imaging equipment/operations required. Must have a working knowledge of budget preparation and control; departmental staffing and disciplinary procedures; marketing, patient and public relations strategies; planning and implementing
