Job Description The Ohio State University Medical Center is committed to enhancing the quality of care provided to patients, visitors and staff. The Assistant Director for the operations in University Medical Center, within the Department of Facilities Services, functions to support the cleaning operation. The Assistant Director for the Environmental position is responsible for all management functions for supervisors amp; custodial personnel employed for the day-to-day operations, cleaning of the facilities. Environmental includes, but is not limited to: cleaning support areas on patient outpatient areas, offices, labs, restrooms, corridors, elevators, stairs and outside entrances, as well as other functions associated with the day to day operations of the facilities. This position encompasses communication, coordination, and inspecting for the assigned areas as well has for all shifts within Environmental areas. Responsibilities include actively promoting a Facilities Services Image Program in support of an absolute customer satisfaction. The Assistant Director for this area is responsible for the operational supervision of all personnel assigned that are associated with the day-to-day operations. The Assistant Director is responsible for inspecting, assessing, coordinating, delegating and evaluating personnel performance in their assigned area. In addition the Assistant Director will function has the Director in his absence. Required Qualifications Associate Degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience (some years progressive supervisory experience and High School Graduate or GED Certificate); Considerable years experience in housekeeping or service operations; Some years experience in Healthcare or like facility; Knowledge in general housekeeping procedures, familiar with JCAHO requirements; Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written; Must have experience in customer service; Knowledge of applicable codes and regulatory requirements for safety and JCAHO; General knowledge of computers including use of Excel and Word. |
