The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.

Position Summary

The Clinical Manager - RN is responsible for the management of the overall operations of the Vascular Surgery AAAASF Office Based Lab (OBL)/Angio Suite, including but not limited to, quality assurance and patient care, financial management, physician relations, safety & risk management, equipment maintenance and inventory, and other required duties that may arise during the general operations of the OBL. The Nurse Manager ensures compliance with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards, AAAASF standards and compliance with other regulatory agency standards for supervising the nursing staff, including the Scrub and Radiology technicians. The Nurse Manager reports directly to the Chief of Vascular Surgery and Division Administrator.

Responsibilities



  • Provides ongoing patient information to the interventionist and clinical team during procedures to deliver care to the patient including but not limited to cardiac monitoring, aldrete score, pain status. Monitor patient vitals (HR, BP, O2Sat, EKG) during procedures
  • Gathers pre-treatment patient data, monitors patient and medications during procedures, maintains prescription drug logs and provides assistance to the clinical team during pre, intra and post procedure activities
  • Assist in recovery room patient care following the procedure
  • Gather patient clinical information prior to procedures including patient assessments and patient history.
  • Maintain up-to-date narcotic drug log.
  • Maintain clear and accurate patient medical records
  • Responsible for the completion and recording of patient's history and physical examination, ordering appropriate tests; formulating a plan and prognosis, based on patient's condition and under the supervision of the surgeon.
  • Develop and provide patient education and discharge instructions, including ongoing efforts to further streamline a pre- and post-operative education program that fosters patient care, research, quality and education.
  • Responsible for the initiation of initial and subsequent office evaluation of patients referred to the division, assess patients for postoperative visits, based on the established practice of the surgeons and coordinate multidisciplinary care of patients with other specialties as required.
  • Assist with obtaining and maintaining the AAAASF accreditation for the OBL
  • Create, implement, and ensure compliance with all state and federal laws and regulations including but not limited to appropriate NFPA Life Safety regulations, CMS, OSHA, JCAHO, EPA, & AAAASF
  • Be the primary contact to physicians and practice, representing our interests and communicating clinical concerns
  • Ensure compliance with State or Federal Regulations of the injury prevention and safety training programs
  • Report or document all any staff related injuries according to established policy and procedures
  • Comply with Adverse Occurrence Reporting procedures and timely reporting requirements.
  • Manage all procedure room staff employment activity such as hiring, promoting, job performance, evaluations, retention, and disciplinary actions with appropriate approvals as required
  • Ensure that all supplies are ordered, inventory maintained and stored according to Quad A guidelines. This includes but is not limited to the processing of invoices, along with purchase order creation and renewal, and serve as the liaison between outside vendors and the department's purchasing/finance team
  • Maintain a working knowledge of all Product Formulary, IOS materials management system, and Case Costing reports.
  • Monitor the operational status of all medical equipment and immediately notifies supplier and malfunctioning equipment, in particular the C-arm Imaging machine
  • Other duties as assigned.


Minimum Qualifications



  • Requires a BSN degree or equivalent in education and 4 yrs of related experience.
  • Current RN license in state of practice
  • Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)


Other Requirements



  • Ability to communicate effectively with multicultural and language-deficit patients.
  • Fluent in the written and verbal skills necessary to successfully perform the essential functions, duties, and responsibilities of the position.
  • Must be able to adapt to a growing and changing environment.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology strongly preferred.
