Your Role With Us: The American Association of Sleep Technologists (AAST) notes that sleep medicine is a rapidly growing field with a strong demand for qualified registered sleep technologists. As a Polysomnography Technologist at Salem Health, your excellent interpersonal and technical skills combine to make you a highly sought-after member of the medical field. We know you'll feel welcome, wanted and important at Salem Health while providing care to patients undergoing sleep medicine procedures.Primary Functions:1.Provide direct and indirect care to patients undergoing procedures in the Sleep Center Department and other areas in the hospital a. Performs sleep medicine procedures, including sleep studies with and without positive airway pressure, multiple sleep latency and maintenance of wakeful testing, actigraphy, and continuous overnight oximetry studies. b. Recognizes and responds to adverse reactions, clinical problems, or emergent situations c. Provides education to patient and family d. Troubleshoots equipment malfunction and reports failure as needed h.
