THE POSITION

Are you looking for a part-time internship in the exciting world of public health? The Department of Health is seeking applicants for a 3 to 6 month paid internship during the 2024-2025 school year, with the possibility of an extension into the summer of 2025. This opportunity is open to all Pennsylvania students who are currently enrolled in or a recent graduate of a graduate or undergraduate level academic program. As an intern, you will have the chance to support the Bureau of Finance and Administration and gain valuable experience. If you are pursuing a degree in business, business writing, or technical writing, this could be the perfect opportunity for you!


DESCRIPTION OF WORK

The primary responsibility of this internship position will be to help document policies and procedures for new and existing workflows in all three Quality Assurance bureaus. You will also have the opportunity to participate in process improvement activities and support the writing of new policies and procedures. In addition, you will be offered the opportunity to work on special projects and gain valuable experience and skills.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Part-time internship (up to 20 hours per week).
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • The worksite location will be determined at the time of hire based on the selected candidate's home location.
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) full-time. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in the nearest field office.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Internship Requirements:

  • Current full-time enrollment in or recent graduate of an undergraduate or graduate level program.
  • Good academic standing (as defined by a GPA of 2.0 or higher).
  • Pennsylvania residency or enrollment at a Pennsylvania college or university.

Additional Requirement:

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.
