Laboratory Technician

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Laboratory Technician to join our collaborative team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to important discoveries in cancer biology. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing a variety of molecular and cell biological procedures, including immunoblotting, PCR, DNA subcloning and sequencing, immunoprecipitations, cell culture, generation of transgenic cell lines (e.g., transfection/transduction, CRISPR gene editing), cell-based drug response assays, CUT&RUN, and sample and library preparation for next-generation sequencing. Additionally, the role involves conducting murine animal studies and working with model organisms such as mice, as well as human tissue and/or cell lines.

In this role, the Laboratory Technician will additionally support lab organization and operations by ordering supplies and reagents, maintaining common laboratory equipment, cell lines, reagents, and other materials, and keeping an inventory of these items. Ensuring timely, accurate, and detailed record-keeping of experimental procedures and data organization is essential, as is maintaining high standards of accuracy and adherence to Good Laboratory Practice (GLP). The technician will also be responsible for keeping reports and analyses current, clear, and concise.

The candidate will have demonstrated experience and proficiency in cell culture techniques, cloning, CRISPR/Cas9 gene manipulations, immunoblotting, cell-based drug response assays, and murine xenograft models.

Performs a variety of laboratory experiments and procedures. Prepares specimens. Oversees supply management. Operates and properly maintains equipment.


Essential Functions

A high degree of accuracy and meticulous attention to detail in all tasks is essential, along with strong organizational skills to manage lab operations and maintain inventory. Additionally, the ability to understand and apply spreadsheet applications and general mathematics is required.


Physical Effort

Moderate physical effort required. May be required to stand/move for several hours at a time. May be required to move objects up to 25 pounds occasionally.
