DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Corrections Community Center Monitor, you will maintain the daily activity log, observe re-entrant behavior, and conduct searches of common areas for contraband. You will also maintain and inventory re-entrant prescription medications, security equipment, tools, toxic chemicals, and housekeeping supplies. In addition, you will maintain the sign-in and sign-out register for all re-entrants and visitors, as well as control re-entrant and visitor movement within the CCC.
In this vital role, you will conduct new re-entrant orientation to the CCC, which includes reviewing DOC and CCC policies, rules, and regulations. You will provide information on availability of public services, make room assignments, and assign duties. You will also keep contact with, document, and observe re-entrants through daily activities. Additionally, you will assist with keeping the center inspection-ready as directed. The ideal candidate for this position demonstrates sensitivity to the public and crime victim needs, concerns, and complaints and takes appropriate actions to respond. Interested in learning more? - Full-time employment (40-hour work week)
- Community Corrections Centers are staffed by three (3) work shifts that cover the facility 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.
- Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable. Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $40,268.00 (before taxes).

QUALIFICATIONS
Additional Requirements:
- You must be able to work in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.
- This position requires shift work. You must be willing and able to work different shifts or irregular scheduled hours.
- Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Preferred Qualifications (not required):
- Two (2) years of experience performing public safety or security work. (Examples of qualifying experience include but are not limited to public safety or security work involving protection of persons and/or property and maintaining required security through enforcement of rules, regulations, and laws; public safety or security work in a correctional setting, juvenile, or adult development/detention center, law enforcement entity, or military security experience).
- One (1) year of work experience providing direction/guidance to individuals. (Examples of qualifying work experience include but are not limited to performing as a lead worker or supervisor assigning and evaluating work tasks, providing informal counseling, or giving orders in the Military).

- You must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.
