DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Residential Services Aide, you will play a crucial role in assisting the lead work and supervisory residential staff in delivering and monitoring treatment, training, and related services for individuals at Selinsgrove Center. These duties include providing support in areas such as self-care, socialization, and health maintenance as outlined in each individual's treatment plan. Working as part of the interdisciplinary team, you will collaborate and coordinate with other professionals to ensure the best possible care for each individual. Your responsibilities will also include following direction and guidance from qualified developmental disability professionals to ensure the smooth and effective functioning of the center.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment (40 hours per week)
  • Work hours are 2:00 PM to 10:30 PM, rotating schedule, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Overtime and travel as operationally necessary
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Successful completion of the Aide Trainee program (commonwealth title); or
  • Six months of paid experience in the care, activities, and personal guidance of individuals with intellectual disabilities.

Other Requirements:

  • You must meet the PA residency requirement. For more information on ways to meet PA residency requirements, follow the link and click on Residency.
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Legal Requirements:

  • A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination and drug screening.
  • This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
    1. Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
