Corporate Controller
Hybrid role
Base + bonus + potential equity down the road

We're seeking a seasoned Corporate Controller to join our team and take charge of our accounting operations. This is a highly visible role that will empower you to build out and lead a team, driving financial rigor and supporting aggressive growth. You will be pivotal in shaping our financial foundation and streamlining operations, especially as we pursue an ambitious acquisition strategy.

Key Responsibilities
  • Financial Leadership: Oversee accounting operations, including AP/AR, financial reporting, and general ledger management.
  • Team Building: Lead and mentor the accounting team, fostering a collaborative, growth-oriented culture.
  • Internal Controls: Establish and maintain controls to ensure accurate financial reporting and safeguard assets.
  • Audit & Compliance: Prepare for and coordinate external audits, ensuring compliance with GAAP and regulatory standards.
  • Financial Strategy: Collaborate with the executive team on growth strategies, acquisitions, and business alignment.
  • Process Improvement: Drive process enhancements for efficiency and scalability across accounting functions.
Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA preferred.
  • Experience: 5-7 years in progressive accounting roles with public and industry experience, including leadership roles. Previous controller or assistant controller experience is ideal.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency with NetSuite and advanced Excel skills.
  • Multi-Site Experience: Background in multi-location environments, even if not retail.
  • Leadership Ability: Proven track record in team management and development, with a collaborative approach.
Preferred Experience
  • M&A and PE Exposure: Familiarity with private equity-backed environments and acquisition integration.
  • Project Management: Experience in implementing new financial systems or process improvements.

Determining compensation for this role (and others) at Vaco depends upon a wide array of factors including but not limited to:

  • the individual's skill sets, experience and training;
  • licensure and certification requirements;
  • office location and other geographic considerations;
  • other business and organizational needs.

With that said, as required by local law, Vaco believes that the following salary range referenced above reasonably estimates the base compensation for an individual hired into this position in geographies that require salary range disclosure. The individual may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses.
