JOB SUMMARY

The Temporary Audit Specialist reports to the Interim Chief Financial Officer and is responsible for assisting with reconciliations of various accounts and gathering and submitting items requested by the auditors for the annual independent Uniform Guidance Audit and other duties as assigned.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES



  1. Coordinate with Interim Chief Financial Officer and the external auditors for the external audit.
  2. Reconcile monthly corporate statements to the general ledger.
  3. Assist in the preparation of financial reports for the Agency Board of Directors, external auditors, and contracting agencies.
  4. Assist with periodic audits performed by contracting agencies, and the annual independent audit of the Agency.
  5. Analyze the Agency general ledger and prepare accruals and adjustments necessary for the preparation of monthly and annual financial reports.
  6. Review and ensure the accuracy of balance sheet account reconciliations.
  7. Review and approve journal entries and reconciliations.
  8. Monitor fiscal performance throughout the Agency to ensure compliance with government and contract requirements.
  9. Provide support to the Interim CFO and other senior leaders as needed.
  10. Will drive on Agency business as needed.
  11. Physical presence at the office is required.


ESSENTIAL JOB REQUIREMENTS



  1. Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
  2. Five (5) years of related accounting experience with three (3) years at a management level.
  3. Knowledge of GAAP requirements, Uniform Guidance, Sarbanes Oxley, and HIPAA preferred.
  4. Experience preparing financial statements and working with external auditors.
  5. Experience in design and implementation of fiscal policies, procedures and internal controls.
  6. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  7. Intermediate computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and SharePoint.
  8. Possess a valid driver's license and have access to a dependable means of transportation that is properly insured and operated in accordance with all laws. Agency insurer authorization is required.
  9. Ability to pass a criminal background check.
  10. Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen.
