Inside the Role

Interns will gain knowledge and experience through exciting and real-life learning opportunities. Interns must work in accordance with DTNA's core values of passion, respect, integrity and discipline. Internship positions can be located at various DTNA locations across the US. We are looking for high performing and motivated individuals in various areas within DTNA organizations. DTNA internships begin each summer in May or June.

Interns in this role may have the opportunity to transition into a full-time position subject to manager evaluations and business availability.

The Digital User Experience team creates the holistic user experience for market differentiating features of the future for all of the global Daimler Truck brands. Customer-focused design of digital user interfaces for all vehicle features based on research and state-of-the-art guidelines enables us to come up with market-leading solutions. We implement and verify new vehicle functionality based on global UI design standards and best practices.

Salary placement is determined by your anticipated graduation year and ranges between $21 - $30 per hour.

What You Drive at DTNA

  • Supports the design, develop, documentation, and debug process of the user interface to optimize user experience
  • Articulates, develops, and models the end user experience including the visual design of the application, to make user interaction simple, efficient, and consistent
  • Assesses and optimizes the performance of new and existing features by actively participating in usability testing and user research, and interpreting analytics data
  • Apply and embrace Design Thinking methodology in projects to deliver thoughtful output in design solutions.
  • Collaborate with a diverse team of designers, UI/UX experts, feature owners, project teams, and developers located in Germany, Japan, India, and United States

Knowledge You Should Bring

  • Must be currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's/PhD Program from an accredited college/university or have graduated within the last 12 months.
  • Expertise in Adobe Creative Suite
  • Expertise in Figma, Sketch or XD
  • Design Thinking process
  • 3D design tools
  • Passion for the automotive industry preferred
  • Programming experience preferred
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Solid organizational skills
  • Creative mindset
  • Interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment

    Schedule Type:
