Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Lead Researcher to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will lead research projects focusing on autonomic and vascular function in both healthy individuals and clinical populations. This role involves a combination of leadership, mentorship, and hands-on research activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage research projects on autonomic and vascular function.
  • Conduct and oversee data collection and analysis.
  • Lead laboratory meetings and journal clubs.
  • Order and manage laboratory equipment and supplies.
  • Assist the Principal Investigator (PI) in mentoring graduate and undergraduate students.
  • Disseminate research findings through manuscripts, abstracts, and presentations.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure the successful completion of research projects.
Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

PhD in Physiology or Exercise Physiology.
One (1) or more years of research training or experience.
Demonstrated team-oriented mindset.
Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
Strong ability to collaborate across an academic research setting.
Demonstrated commitment to excellence.

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in human clinical research.

About the Department

Family Medicine and Community Health

The Department of Family Medicine and Community Health at the University of Minnesota was created more than 50 years ago in response to a legislative mandate to train primary care physicians. Since then, we have been leaders in transforming the specialty through education, research, and patient care. We are the academic sponsor of seven family medicine residencies-five in the Twin Cities, two in Greater Minnesota. We are involved in medical student education activities across the Medical School's two campuses: Twin Cities and Duluth. We sponsor five fellowship programs-sports medicine, hospice and palliative medicine, behavioral medicine, clinical informatics, and human sexuality- and offer continuing medical education opportunities. Pay and Benefits

Annual Pay Range: $75,564 - $82,980; depending on education/qualifications/experience

Time Appointment: 75%-100% Appointment
