About the Job

The Application Support Professional is a key member of the team that supports research through providing administrative and IT services for multiple clinical research applications. Primary duties include IT application and health research study-specific support of several clinical research IT applications including REDCap, the OnCore Clinical Trial Management System (CTMS), Advarra Electronic Data Capture (EDC), and Florence eBinders.

A successful applicant will be responsive, a good problem solver, able to become an expert in several IT applications, highly organized, able to track multiple work streams, and work collaboratively with a wide variety of stakeholders. The position requires the ability to provide an exceptional level of service and superior human relation skills for key interactions with researchers, research staff, and administrators. The role offers qualified candidates opportunities to grow within the organization as their subject matter expertise increases.

The Application Support Professional reports to the CTMS Director. This position may currently work primarily remote, depending on state of residence, or may work in the office on-campus. There will be times this role will be expected to be available in the office for certain planned activities.

Primary Duties

Research Data Collection System Support and Services (60%)

  • Provide exceptional tier-1 application support of REDCap and EDC systems. Routinely process support requests received via email and communicate with expert team members and end-users.
  • Conduct routine application testing for weekly maintenance, and participate in validation testing of the REDCap & EDC system to ensure regulatory compliance upon.
  • Provide live REDCap support and guidance for researchers and administrative staff during group office hours.
  • Support the development of project-specific data capture forms in REDCap and EDC, as needed.
  • Train study teams in the use of project-specific data capture forms.
  • Assist with IT application documentation.
  • Conduct additional administrative tasks associated with REDCap and EDC.

IT Application Support - Clinical Trial Management System (CTMS) and Electronic Regulator Binder (30%)

  • Provision access accounts, following the guidance of the Application Support Analyst and in collaboration with the CTMS team.
  • Provide routine and backup tier-1 support in collaboration with the Application Support Analyst and CTMS team. This work includes analyzing user requests and providing typically standard and occasionally unique IT application solutions.
  • Document issue status and resolution in an issue tracking system.
  • Backup the CTMS Study Administrator to provide standard OnCore protocol set up.
  • Assist with testing and documentation during application upgrades.
  • Assist with IT application documentation.

Other duties and special projects as assigned (10%)

  • Serve as a subject matter expert on special projects.
  • Assist in the implementations of new features, applications, or research areas.
  • Attend team meetings.
  • Provide additional backup staff support or services for OnCore, REDCap, eBinders, or EDC systems.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

All required qualifications must be documented on application materials.

Required

  • BA/BS degree or a combination of education and related experience to equal at least 4 years.
  • Ability and desire to provide exceptional customer service both promptly and at a high level of accuracy.
  • Experience with web-based applications and comfortable troubleshooting problems with IT applications, including access and data entry.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving abilities and analytical skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of scientific and medical concepts and terminology, or knowledge of clinical trial management operations.
  • Experience using or supporting a clinical trial management system, electronic health record system, electronic data capture system, or a regulatory system.
  • Experience following instructions for new processes and contributing to continued improvement of processes and workflows.
  • Experience preparing training materials or training others on a system or process.

Pay and Benefits
