What this job involves - The Associate Labs Planner at JLL is responsible for supporting the planning and design of laboratory facilities, ensuring efficient and effective use of space and resources. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, clients, and vendors. The Associate Labs Planner will assist in developing lab layouts, optimizing workflows, and creating functional and innovative laboratory environments.

Responsibilities:
Assist with the planning and design of laboratory facilities, considering space utilization, workflow efficiency, and safety requirements.
Collaborate with clients, facility managers, and scientists to understand their laboratory needs and objectives.
Develop and update lab layouts, incorporating equipment placements, workstations, and storage areas.
Utilize CAD software and relevant design tools to create and modify lab floorplans.
Obtain and analyze data on lab requirements, equipment specifications, and regulatory guidelines for effective space planning.
Assist in coordinating with architects, engineers, and contractors to develop design concepts and plans for lab projects.
Review and provide input on design drawings, specifications, and equipment selections.
Support in conducting site visits and inspections to evaluate existing lab spaces and recommend improvements.
Assist in tracking project budgets, timelines, and resources to ensure timely completion of lab planning initiatives.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure integration of lab planning with other building operations.
Stay informed about industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory requirements in lab planning and design.
Support in developing and maintaining relationships with laboratory equipment suppliers, vendors, and industry experts.
Assist in preparing reports, presentations, and visualizations to communicate lab planning recommendations to stakeholders.
Provide assistance and support for other lab planning activities and projects as needed.

Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, Facilities Management, or a related field.
Proven experience in lab planning, preferably in a scientific research or healthcare environment.
Proficiency in CAD software and design tools (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit) is desired.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Excellent attention to detail and ability to multitask.
Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
Ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
Familiarity with laboratory equipment, workflows, and safety guidelines is a plus.
