This job is an Allied health specialty for diagnosing patients with neurological disorders. Under direct supervision of the laboratory supervisor, prepares patients for and conducts neurological testing procedures to obtain data for use in the diagnosis of clinical disorders of the nervous system in at least one of the following modalities, Electroencephalography (EEG), Evoked Potentials (EP), Long-Term Monitoring (CLTM), Nerve Conduction Studies (NCS), Transcranial Doppler (TCD), and Intraoperative Neuromonitoring (IONM). Responsible for analyzing and summarizing results. Conforms to all laboratory policies and procedures regarding OSHA and JCAHO guidelines for universal precautions and hospital regulations. Performs other related duties are required. Education Required -High School diploma or equivalent Preferred -Associates degree Work Experience Preferred - Two years related experience Certifications Required -BLS certification, willingness and ability to pursue at least one certification i.e. R.NCS.T, R.EEG.T, R.EP.T, RVS, RCS, CLTM, or CNIM Preferred-R.NCS.T, R.EEG.T, R.EP.T, RVS, RCS, CLTM, or CNIM Knowledge Skills and Abilities (KSAs)
