Qualifications EDUCATION Associates degree from an accredited college or university in Dental Hygiene; Connecticut State License required. Bachelors Degree preferred. EXPERIENCE A minimum of 3 - 5 years experience in a multi-faceted clinical or general practice position or related experience in the dental setting. Special needs experience is essential. Previous hospital/academic or public health experience preferred. LICENSURE Dental Hygienist Licensure in the State of Connecticut and Basic Life Support Certification, maintain 16 annual Continuing Educational Units to maintain licensure in the State of Connecticut. Ability to administer Local anesthesia through CT DPH standards preferred. SPECIAL SKILLS Must demonstrate excellent skills in communication, interpersonal relationships, organization and attention to detail, takes initiative, is open-minded, develops, engages in and presents educational programs to patients, staff and community. Has the ability to work collaboratively with all disciplines within the dental and hospital departments. ACCOUNTABILITY Responsible for providing comprehensive oral care and dental hygiene as a professional and contributing team member. Meet productivity standards set by the department.
