Regulatory Accountant will prepare royalty and severance tax reporting for EOG reporting States. Ability to research and analyze severance tax reports and communicate data results as needed. Responsibilities will include audit and data compliance for the Regulatory accounting team, filing monthly reports for EOG Resources; file corrected reports, and volume and price reconciliations and analysis; effectively communicate with multiple disciplines as necessary to ensure accurate reporting; apply understanding and ensuring compliance with all government regulations. Annual visits to reporting agencies with management as needed. The candidate will also reconcile royalty payable accounts monthly, testing of system enhancements and system conversion, and special projects as necessary. Specialist will have responsibilities with federal audits and audit tracking, potential reporting to Federal and Indian leases (ONRR) may be required as workload changes. JOB REQUIREMENTS Bachelor's or Master's degree from an accredited institution, in Accounting or related business field, including core accounting classes relevant to the position, is required. CPA a plus, 3+ years of regulatory reporting experience, audit, or oil and gas revenue accounting experience. Familiarity with Plant Processing a plus. Working knowledge of and ability to apply generally accepted accounting principles. Proficient in MS Excel and experience with SQL a plus. Ability to gather and communicate data logically, accurately, and concisely. Strong problem solving, attention to detail, and communication skills. Position requires sound analytical ability. Must be able to meet rigorous deadlines and work effectively with others. Must be able to perform most assignments with minimal supervision.
