Job Summary: Responsible for leading, creating vision and strategic direction, and managing the safety and security department at the college; serving as the coordinator of emergency preparedness for the college; providing an inclusive, secure and safe environment for faculty, students, staff, and visitors; resolving complaints and concerns; recommending policy and procedure modifications; budget preparation; updating and ensuring compliance with applicable rules, policies and regulations; and ensuring staff meet established training and certification requirements. Minimum Qualifications: Associate's Degree and 7 years of experience, including 2 years supervisory experience or, equivalent knowledge and skills that meet the essential requirements of the position. Licensing Requirements: Must successfully pass annual weapon qualifications with a Glock .21 caliber handgun. - Lead efforts to ensure emergency preparedness; including a comprehensive training program for officers that includes diversity and inclusion work, a complete education/drill program for students, employees and other stakeholders, and the creation of emergency preparedness plans. - (Essential)
- Lead a 24/7 security staff to include assignment of work activities and responsibilities, scheduling, performance management, and employee evaluations. - (Essential)

- Supervise, hire, and train staff; ensure that all staff, faculty, students, and visitors are in compliance will official college policies and procedures; conduct regular safety and security training, evaluations, inspections, and assessments to ensure adherence to established safety and security standards and procedures. - (Essential)
- Ensure proper preparation and filing of safety, criminal, traffic, incident, and other required reports; ensure compliance with local, state, and federal mandates (including Clery and Title IX). - (Essential)
- Serve as liaison and maintain ongoing partnerships with local law enforcement, first responders, and other support organizations associated with emergency preparedness, response, and recovery. - (Essential)
- Prepare and present/distribute information relevant to the safety and security of college employees and students. - (Essential)
- Facilitate appropriate and timely response to issues and challenges; physically patrols via vehicle, foot and bicycle; running to respond to an emergency; defense against or restraint of an assailant; assisting or dragging someone to safety; and maintaining stamina for foot patrols. - (Essential)
- Annually review and modify the departmental strategic plan to ensure the established goals and objectives are aligned with the college's strategic direction and are being achieved. - (Essential)
- Ensure proper security coverage for the general operation of the college, as well as special events and activities. - (Essential)
