The team you will be a part of

**Due to NSA requirements this role will not be offering sponsorship. Candidates must be US Citizens or green card holders.

**Relocation will not be offered for this position.

The candidate in this role will be required to work with Nokia R&D members (CTO, other IMS products systems engineers/architects, product owners, software engineers) as well as product line managers (PLMs) and customer support teams to define, design and deliver SBC product capabilities for both telecom and enterprise markets.

What you will learn and contribute to



  • Definition of Nokia SBC product requirements to respond to new market and customer needs
  • Cooperation with Product Manager, Product Architect, Systems Engineers, Solution architects, CTO and Development Teams on defining product roadmap, feature / requirements definitions and backlog prioritization.
  • Identification of product gaps and weaknesses toward standards & competition, addressing them into enhancements/ roadmap
  • Supporting design, implementation, test, sales and maintenance of product with the relevant teams
  • Documenting and presenting product capabilities internally and externally (documentation/ publications and presentations)
  • Cross-sharing technology & product knowledge among various project team members
  • Representing Nokia R&D internally and externally


Qualifications

You have:



  • Bachelor's degree with a graduation date within the past 12 months is the minimum required. Candidates with degrees in computer science and/or telecom will be more relevant. Master's degree and internship experience in related areas is a plus.
  • At least 4-5 years of professional experience including system/solutions engineering in the IMS domain.
  • Previous experience in software design, software development, and/or testing in an R&D or similar organization.
  • Good knowledge of Session Border Controller product(s) (control plane and media plane), their functions, components, interfaces
  • Good knowledge of IMS architecture and SBC applicable use cases
  • Good knowledge of VoIP and VoLTE architecture, entities, and use cases
  • 3GPP and IETF standards knowledge applicable to SBC signaling & media services and networking
  • Experience and knowledge related to signaling plane: SIP, H.248, Diameter, Lawful Interception (X1/X2), security aspects and protocols
  • Experience and knowledge related to media plane: H.248, MSRP(S), (S)RTP, RTCP, (D)TLS, DTMF, transcoding (audio, fax, video) including TrFO, MOS
  • Knowledge of generic OAM interfaces
  • English as a working language


It would be nice if you also had:



  • Previous experience as a Nokia intern or co-op
  • Understanding of cloud, cloud-native principles, microservices
  • Understanding of system performance, capacity, and overload control aspects
