Summary of Position |
The Department of Criminology and Criminal Justice at Plymouth State University invites applications for a full-time, 9-month, non-tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor of Practice to commence in August 2025. The non- tenure-track candidate will be responsible for teaching 14-16 credit hours per semester of undergraduate courses in Criminology/Criminal Justice in areas such as Conservation Law Enforcement, Environmental Crime, Criminal Law, and
GIS/crime mapping. The candidate will also advise students, and contribute to discipline and university service. A PhD in Criminology, Criminal Justice or a related discipline is required.
JD or
ABD candidates expecting to complete their degree prior to appointment will be considered. |

Masters degree in Criminology, Criminal Justice, or a related discipline.
JD and
ABD will be considered
Demonstrated excellence in college-level teaching with evidence from colleagues and students.
Skills in academic advising and mentoring students.
Innovative, student-driven, and possessing excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
Ability to teach multiple core courses in the criminology and criminal justice program |
Additional Preferred Qualifications |
PHD in Criminology, Criminal Justice, or a related discipline.- Preference will be given to candidates with expertise in Conservation Law Enforcement
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate with colleagues and participate in collaborative programs and projects across disciplines
- Expertise integrating technology into the classroom to enhance student learning
