* Base Pay Range: $16.68 - $26.31, based on experience ABOUT THE JOB The Supervisor, Housekeeping will assist management in the supervision of the operational and personnel activities of the Housekeeping Department. DETAILED JOB DESCRIPTION Assist management to ensure that all new employees meet and maintain the departmental criteria and are aligned with the MU Health Care Mission and Goals. Assist with periodic inventory of the housekeeping department equipment and products. Communicate with other departments regarding housekeeping services and participate in complaint resolution. Conduct quality control inspections and provide a written report daily. Assist management in monitoring the department Guest Relations Program. Monitor staff workload and productivity to meet the workload and productivity standards. Assist management in monitoring department operations and objectives to ensure the quality of services meets the standards of the MU Health Care Mission and Goals. Plan, assign, and review the work of the support staff. Demonstrate to staff appropriate methods and procedures to complete work assignments. Review staff's work in progress for adherence to appropriate methods, and procedures, and completion of work promptly. Prepare written reports and collect data for department manager as needed. Develop, coordinate, and maintain daily staffing schedules to ensure the appropriate level of unit coverage and continuity of care. Monitor time and attendance in alignment with MU Health Care policies and practices, ensuring accuracy of records and timely submittal/approval for payroll purposes. May complete unit/department-specific duties and expectations as outlined in department documents. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS High school diploma or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities can be acquired. Two (2) years of experience in a services industry (retail operation, food service, hospitality, customer service, housekeeping, etc). PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Supervisory experience. Additional license/certification requirements as determined by the hiring department. PHYSICAL DEMANDS The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met with or without reasonable accommodation. This position is very active and may require ambulating, remaining in a stationary position and positioning self to reach and/or move objects above the shoulders and below the knees. The employee may frequently lift and/or move objects up to 10 lbs. and occasionally move objects up to 25 lbs. This role may also routinely come into contact with patients who may have contagious illnesses. This position is in a health care facility open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
