Position Summary

Upholds the mission and beliefs of the organization by diagnosing and treating all dental patients according to acceptable treatment standards.

Essential Duties and Functions

  1. Diagnose and treat patients in accordance with accepted treatment standards which includes:
  2. Examining patients' teeth and mouth
  3. Analyzing x-rays and evaluates dental needs.
  4. Treating teeth and tissue problems using equipment and tools, such as drills or mouth mirrors.
  5. Maintain an acceptable level of visit productivity as per HRSA standards of 16 average visits per 8 hour day.
  6. Provide instructions on dental care as well as administer medication and prescriptions for patients.
  7. Maintain, complete, and sign all electronic patient records and check for accurate charting and progress notes.
  8. Provide instruction to support to all support dental staff.
  9. Devote time every year to continuing education, conferences and reading in dental public health.
  10. Maintain current CPR certification.
  11. Maintain required level of CDE hours for State licensure
  12. Comply with all CDC and OSHA standards

Qualifications

  • Pennsylvania state licensed dentist with a degree from an ADA approved dental school.
  • Have graduated from an ADA approved Dental School.
  • Hold current Dental license in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
  • Have Federal DEA Certificate
  • Have HEP B vaccination
  • Be a team player with an excellent attitude-extremely patient friendly
  • Have an interest in and commitment to public health dentistry.
  • Show ongoing involvement in community outreach and education.

  • Light: exerting up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. The use of arm and/or leg control requires force greater than sedentary, but worker still sits majority of time.

Additional Requirements:

  • Ability to get to and from Abbottsford Homes and the Abbottsford Falls Health Center. Has access to reliable transportation and/or the ability to walk throughout the community during the shift; can stand for long periods and carry equipment.
