PLUMBER III (CORRECTIONAL FACILITY) $6,400.00 - $7,677.00 per Month Final Filing Date: Job Description and Duties
**Individuals who are eligible for Training and Development assignment may also be considered for this position (s). Under the direction of the Supervisor of Building Trades, C.F.; this position will plan, lay-out, lead and inspect the work of a crew of plumbers and other workers including incarcerated workers assigned in plumbing installation and repair work. Lays out, directs, and assists with the work of constructing and repairing various types of plumbing; leads, works with, and inspects the work of Plumber II's and incarcerated plumbers engaged in plumbing installations and repair work. Demonstrates the proper and safe methods of performing plumbing work and sees that the work is carried out according to plans, specifications, and plumbing codes and work is properly correlated with other trades; instructs and leads unskilled assistants. Plans and lays out schedules; requisitions materials and equipment necessary to complete work orders in assigned areas; reads schematics, plans, and blueprints; provides guidance to Plumber II's and incarcerated plumbers in the completion of maintenance work orders; ensures that materials and equipment are prepared and ready for scheduled work; contacts outside vendors for price quotes; prepares form CDCR 954 (Interoffice Requisition); keeps simple work records. Perform administrative duties including, but not limited to adhere to Department policies, rules and procedures; submit administrative requests including leave, travel, and training in a timely and appropriate manner; accurately report time and submit timesheets by the due date. Attends all other training, meetings, and seminars as needed or required. Performs other duties as needed or required. San Quentin Rehab Center is California's oldest and best-known correctional institution, which was established on the site currently known as Point San Quentin, in July of 1852, as an answer to the rampant lawlessness in California at the time. The prison rests overlooking the bay on 432 acres and is located just 12 miles north of the Golden Gate Bridge in the county of Marin. The walled prison is made up of four (4) large cell blocks (West, South, North, and East Block), one (1) maximum security cell block (the Adjustment Center), Central Health Care Service Building, a medium security dorm setting and a minimum-security firehouse.
