The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.

Position Summary

Reporting to the Projects Director of INCITE and working closely with Center Directors and Program Managers within Incite, the Project Coordinator provides discreet and confidential administrative and programmatic support for a wide range of initiatives related to Incite and its centers and affiliates, including the Columbia Center for Oral History Research, the Trust Collaboratory, the Oral History Master of Arts, the Labor Lab, and Logic(s) Magazine, among others.

INCITE is an interdisciplinary institute at Columbia University. We produce knowledge for public action. We do so by joining with people and organizations within and outside the university to rethink our understanding of what knowledge is, how it's created, and how it can be used.

**This is a 12-month position with the possibility of extension, contingent on securing additional funds **

Responsibilities



  • Coordinate and support project workflows, including facilitating communication among project and program participants, liaising with vendors for transcription, video, and other services, and supervising student employees as needed.
  • Conduct thorough reviews of research materials and content to ensure alignment with project goals, analyze relevant information to identify key themes, and provide recommendations that help shape the thematic direction and overall approach of the Center's projects.
  • Collaborate with the Projects Director and the institute's Project Manager(s) to assist in managing and administrating various projects and programs.
  • Support the Director of Incite and all research and teaching affiliates, ensuring they have the necessary resources and assistance for ad-hoc projects and workshops.
  • Organize public-facing events aimed at training community members in research methods, drawing from the diverse programs offered by Incite.
  • Partner with the Projects Director, Director of Incite, and Communications Manager to develop and disseminate knowledge through public lectures and educational programs based on project findings and content.
  • Manage and streamline communications among staff, collaborators, participants, and external vendors to ensure clear and efficient information flow. Facilitate coordination across teams, address inquiries, and provide updates on project progress.
  • Support the financial administration of projects by overseeing the accurate processing and tracking of project-specific invoices to maintain budgetary compliance and operational efficiency.
  • Manage and respond to calls and correspondence directed to the Projects Director, exercising independent judgment and initiative in drafting replies and conducting outreach on behalf of the Institute and its programs.
  • Collaborate closely with the Projects Director to support material processing for Incite's oral history, research, and community-based projects.
  • Oversee the distribution and inventorying of Incite equipment, including the distribution of cameras, recorders, and other equipment loaned to students and researchers.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned-some evening and occasional weekend work.


Minimum Qualifications



  • Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of 0-2 years of related experience.
