Summary of Position |
The Center for Acoustics Research & Education (
CARE) seeks an outstanding scientist with a doctorate in oceanography and a proven record of research focusing on measuring and modeling acoustic interactions with the seafloor (scatter, reflection, attenuation, geoacoustic properties, etc.) and related environmental parameters such as seafloor roughness and near-bottom hydrodynamics.
The successful candidate will be expected to develop and maintain a vigorous research program and will be expected to secure funding to support their annual salary. The Assistant Research Professor will join CARE's multi-disciplinary team of faculty. |

Acceptable Minimum Qualifications |
Doctorate in oceanography with research emphasis in underwater acoustics, seafloor acoustics, bottom boundary layer hydrodynamics and related acoustic measurement systems. |

- experience teaching underwater acoustics at the graduate level
