DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this position, you will operate single chassis trucks and vans, passenger vans, and buses to transport residents on and off facility grounds to local and long-distance destinations. This may include appointments, treatments, transfers, and various activities. Work includes hauling materials; performing repairs, preventive maintenance, and cleaning vehicles and equipment; and conducting safety checks and inspections. In addition, you can expect to load and unload vehicles, as well as maintain records and logs of equipment.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
  • Work hours are 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM, flexible schedule, rotating weekends and holidays
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Six months experience in the operation and maintenance of large vans, buses and single-chassis trucks with a gross vehicle weight of 10,001 pounds or more; or
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training.

Special Requirements:

  • You must possess a valid Class C Pennsylvania driver's license.

Additional Requirements:

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Legal Requirements:

  • A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination.
  • This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
    • Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
