Acara Solutions is seeking an Orbital Welder to work with our client in Fremont, CA.
Shift: Monday - Friday 6:00am - 2:30pm
Target Pay: $23 - $27/hour
Work Environment: Cleanroom
Job Description
Perform Orbital welding (TIG/GTAW) on stainless steel for vacuum fittings from one-eight to one-half inch.
Responsibilities
  • Work under normal to moderate supervision.
  • Perform basic set-ups and operate orbital weld system.
  • Perform mechanical set-ups and changeovers for Swagelok welding machines
  • Operate orbital welding equipment and systems in a safe manner.
  • Keep work areas clean and organized and follow safety guidelines.
  • Prioritize work and execute to hit production schedules and or commitments in accordance with direction of leads and supervisors.
  • Work from schedules, shop orders, established procedures, blueprints, and product specifications.
  • Fit, align, and precisely orbital weld product to meet or exceed product/customer requirements, specifications, and workmanship standards.
  • Identify deviations that can potentially interrupt productivity.
  • Maintain logs and other necessary documents.
  • May train less skilled technicians and operators.
  • Measure and verify dimensions using inspection tooling.
  • Complete routing and process planning as necessary
  • Demonstrate ability to process and Inspect 1st piece in accordance to prints.
  • Collaborate with Engineering to develop advanced welding processes as needed.
  • Assist team members to maintain departmental standards including quality goals and on-time delivery goals.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
Requirements:
  • 6 months orbital welding experience with Associate's Degree/Vocational certifications OR 2 years+ with high school diploma
Preferred Skills:
  • Mechanically inclined.
  • Visual acuity and manual dexterity
  • Ability to handle fragile products, perform repetitive tasks and demonstrate safety awareness.
  • Mini Head experience is a plus.
  • Proficiently use all approved hand gauges to inspect component quality at the work center.
  • Ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment
  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend and lift up to 50lbs
  • Ability to read and comprehend technical drawings, correspondence, and documents.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, percentages, and decimals.
  • Ability to read testing and measuring instruments, record test results, and write related reports
  • Ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment.
  • Ability to communicate verbally and in writing effectively with supervisors, leads, and peers.
  • Ability to recognize deviation from accepted practices.
  • Basic understanding of related mechanics, flow control elements and MRP concepts.
