About the Job

About Us: The Lillehei Heart Institute and the Division of Diabetes, Endocrinology, and Metabolism in the Department of Medicine are committed to advancing research and clinical care regarding cardiometabolic health. As cardiology, diabetes, endocrinology, and metabolism increasingly overlap, there is a growing need for collaborative investigations and multidisciplinary teams that integrate expertise from both cardiology and endocrinology. We want to foster collaboration between our respective areas to advance cardiometabolic research, and ultimately improve patient outcomes.

Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead and coordinate large NIH grants focusing on cardiometabolic issues. The Project Manager will oversee the end-to-end management of research projects, ensuring that they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of scientific integrity. The ideal candidate will have a background in project management within clinical or biomedical research and possess strong organizational skills.

Key Responsibilities:

* 40% - Project Management: Responsible for project management of all aspects of an NIH grant proposal, from conception to completion, ensuring timely delivery of results and outcomes. Develop and maintain project timelines, track milestones, and manage resources to ensure successful project execution and proposal development.

* 15% - Grant Coordination: Collaborate with the Department of Medicine's Pre-Award Team in the preparation of documents and information-sharing for NIH grant proposals, especially larger R01/U01/Program project grants, to ensure compliance with all guidelines and deadlines. Submission of proposals will be completed by a member of the Department of Medicine's Pre-Award Team.

* 15% - Budget Oversight: Collaborate with financial teams to prepare and manage budgets for grant proposals, ensuring alignment with project goals and NIH requirements.

* 15% - Stakeholder Engagement: Act as the primary point of contact for faculty, researchers, and administrative staff involved in the grant process, providing guidance and support as needed.

* 10% - Reporting and Compliance: Contribute in document preparation and information gathering for the Department of Medicine's Pre-Award Team to ensure all submissions are completed accurately and submitted in a timely manner, and oversee post-submission requirements, including progress reports and compliance documents.
