Job Summary

Perform full range of operational maintenance and troubleshooting functions of campus electrical systems and building internal wiring systems at the master level. Provide work direction to lower level electricians including prioritizing work, scheduling and making work assignments consistent with needs and qualifications. May be required to coordinate work of contractor personnel as well as provide work direction regarding electrical systems to maintenance personnel and others. When working in multi-craft environment may be directed to assist others in non-electrically related duties. This position will interact on a consistent basis with: co-workers, building contact personnel, D&C staff, vendors, contractors, environmental health and safety personnel and utility providers. This position typically will advise and counsel: maintenance and Electrician I and II personnel. This position will supervise: NA.

Responsibilities

Job Duty 1 -
Perform tests and troubleshooting components of campus electrical distribution system (high voltage and secondary voltage systems).

Job Duty 2 -
Coordinate activities of engineers, contractors and state agencies in designing and upgrading electrical systems. Prepare, review and administer contracts.

Job Duty 3 -
Schedule, coordinate and inspect work of Electricians I and II. Provide direct supervision in absence of supervisor.

Job Duty 4 -
Provide input in scheduling of power outages including notification to campus.

Job Duty 5 -
Obtain necessary materials and supplies; may include direct purchase from vendors if authorized.

Job Duty 6 -
Observe campus and industry safety procedures.

Job Duty 7 -
Perform non-electrical duties as directed within multi-craft work environment

Job Duty 8 -
Perform other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements
High school diploma, GED Certificate or Vocational School Diploma

Other Required Qualifications
Overnight travel requician IIIed for project delivery; flexibility in on-site daily service delivery hours Degree or 2 years college course work in electrical (due to client shift schedules, project requician IIIements).

Required Experience
Eight to ten years of job related experience

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred Educational Qualifications
Technical Diploma, Associate's Degree or two years college course work in electrical field

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

SKILLS
This job requires master level skill in all operational, maintenance and troubleshooting functions associated with campus electrical systems, technical leadership, skill required to operate machine tools, vehicles, hand/power tools and hydraulic/pneumatic equipment.

Pay Range: $31.44/HR - $42.76HR

Due to the responsibilities of this position, this role requires an onsite presence on Georgia Tech's Atlanta campus (100%).

Location: Atlanta, GA
