Description

GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES: Lead the strategic development and management of UDR's human resources information system (HRIS). Oversee the execution of the daily operations of the HRIS system, ensuring data integrity, security, and full compliance. Drive HR system-related projects and initiatives from conception through completion. Develop and implement data analytics and reporting strategies in support of data driven decisions made across the organization.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED: Reports to the Head of Human Resources

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Strategic Leadership

1. Optimize the strategic roadmap for HR systems aligned with the company's goals and objectives.

2. Lead the evaluation, selection, implementation, maintenance of HR technology solutions, ensuring they meet the company's needs and industry best practices.

3. Collaborate with senior leadership to understand business requirements and translate them into effective HR technology solutions.

4. Partner and collaborate with IT Leadership for alignment on cross-company architecture, security, and technology roadmaps.

System Management

5. Oversee the day-to-day operations of HR systems, ensuring data integrity, security, and compliance with relevant regulations and policies.

6. Manage system upgrades, troubleshooting, and maintenance to ensure optimal performance and minimal downtime.

7. Ensure integration between HR systems and other enterprise systems to streamline processes and ensure data consistency.

Team Leadership and Development

8. Build and lead a high-performing team of HR Systems professionals, providing coaching, mentoring, and development opportunities.

9. Foster a collaborative team culture focused on continuous improvement, innovation, and growth.

10. Collaborate with HR, IT, and other departments to identify system needs and opportunities for process improvement.

Project Management

11. Lead HR system-related projects, from conception through implementation, testing through go live, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and budget.

12. Coordinate with external vendors and consultants as needed for system implementation and support.

Process Improvement

13. Identify opportunities to enhance HR processes through technology, automation, and best practices.

14. Drive process improvement initiatives to increase efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance the employee experience.

15. Define and deliver regular user training, specifically to HR.

Data Analytics and Reporting

16. Develop and implement data analytics and reporting strategies to provide actionable insights to HR and business leaders.

17. Ensure accurate and timely data management within HR systems, supporting data-driven decision-making across the organization.

User Support and Training

18. Oversee the development and delivery of training programs for HR system users.

19. Provide ongoing support to HR system users, addressing issues and ensuring user satisfaction.

Vendor Management

20. Manage relationships with HR technology vendors and service providers, ensuring effective partnerships and service delivery.

21. Oversee vendor performance to ensure value for the company.

22. Leverage relationships, influence the product roadmap and stay aligned with future product commitments particularly in AI.

TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Occasionally lifting items weighing up to 30 lbs. Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate a keyboard, photocopier, telephone, calculator, and other office equipment. Requires normal range of hearing and eyesight to record, prepare, and communicate appropriate reports. Regular and consistent attendance on the job is an essential function.

TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS: Normal office environment. Occasional evening or weekend work.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

1. Minimum ten years of HR systems management or related roles, with progressive people management experience (at least five years in leadership role).

2. Strong knowledge of HR processes, policies, and best practices.

3. Proven experience with HRIS (e.g., UKG), Cornerstone (LMS/performance) and other HR-related technologies.

4. Experience with data analytics, reporting tools, and techniques.

5. Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage complex projects.

6. Proven experience partnering and collaborating with internal IT leadership to align on strategic pathways and prioritization.

7. Track record of successful system implementations.

8. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

9. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels and convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders.

10. Knowledge of data privacy regulations and HR compliance requirements.

11. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint is a must) or similar software.

12. Proficient with process documentation and program / timeline management for project implementations.

13. Strong vendor management capabilities.

14. Excellent organizational and time management skills.

Salary Range:
* $160,000/yr. - $200,000/yr.

Bonus Potential:
* Eligible for discretionary annual bonus, based on personal and company performance
