Overview

As an entry level ecologist for Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc. (CEC), you'll be exposed to a wide variety of clients, markets, and projects driven by today's complex environmental regulatory landscape. As part of a team of about 40 ecologists in Pittsburgh and 120 ecologists nationwide, you will be in the field collecting data on wetlands, streams, aquatic life, threatened and endangered species, rare plants, and more! You will enter our career model where you aren't just an assistant but a leader in training. You will learn what data to collect and why we collect it. As you progress on your career path you will eventually lead field teams and gain project management experience.



Qualifications

    Positive attitude and strong work ethic;
  • A desire to work outdoors in all seasons and weather;
  • B.S. or B.A. in a natural sciences field (e.g., Biology, Environmental Sciences / Studies, Ecology);
  • 1-2 years' professional ecological or biological experience; and
  • Ability to work as part of a large team of ecological experts who will teach you a wide variety of skills.
