The Department of Religious Studies in the Dietrich School of Arts and Sciences at the University of Pittsburgh seeks to appoint a tenured associate or full professor to start Fall 2025. We seek a senior scholar who works at the intersection of religion and sexuality; American religious history; and intersections of religion, medicine, health, and the body. The tenure home will be in the Department of Religious Studies. Still, we anticipate that the successful candidate will play an active role in the Gender, Sexuality, and Women's Studies Program, including cross-listing courses and services. Preference will be given to candidates whose work intersects with other departments, programs, centers, or schools of the university. Required qualifications:

* PhD in Religious Studies or a cognate field.

* teaching experience in the areas described above

* a research portfolio commensurate with the requirements for tenure at the University of Pittsburgh.

* Experience in Gender, Sexuality, and Women's Studies

Preferred qualifications:

* Experience with administrative work and service in a department of Religion/Religious Studies in a research university

* Involvement in Health Humanities initiatives
