Responsibilities

The Associate Individual Therapist conducts assessments, develops and executes treatment plans, facilitates individual and group therapy, and provides clinical support to the program as needed.

Essential Duties:

  • Facilitate individual and group sessions with adolescents/young adults within the framework of Newport Healthcare's clinical model.
  • Coordinate treatment goals and services in collaboration with client's treatment team, with 30-day treatment plan reviews and updates.
  • Provide progress updates to parents in collaboration with family therapist.
  • Provide milieu management and crisis intervention as needed.
  • Complete documentation, treatment plans, progress and group notes, and discharge summary timely and according to established standards.
  • Attend weekly treatment team meetings, staff meetings, and clinical supervision.
  • Participate in training and supervision as assigned by supervisor.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Currently enrolled and in good standing in a Master's degree program with a focus in counseling, psychology, social work, or related field, or Doctorate program, from an accredited or state approved graduate school required.
  • Ability to be Board registered (APCC, LAPC, ASW, AMFT, MHCA) or Psychologic Associate in the state in which services are provided upon graduation of master's program.
  • Minimum one year experience as a Counselor or three years residential supervisor, in good standing, with a Newport Healthcare program, requiring a letter of recommendation from Supervisor.
