LOCATION: Hobbs, NM

STATUS: Part Time

QUALIFICATIONS:



  • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • 1-2 years of college preferred
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Bi-lingual Spanish/English preferred
  • Must be able to work with people from varied backgrounds and cultures
  • Understanding of mental health/addiction issues and homeless issues
  • 2 yrs experience in customer or client service
  • Excellent communication skills, both spoken and written
  • Excellent basic math skills (Addition, subtraction, multiplication, division)
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, Publisher, Power Point)
  • Data entry skills essential
  • Proficient knowledge of internet and social media
  • Knowledge of Lea County social service resources
  • Valid NM Driver's license and clean MVD record
  • Ability to pass The Salvation Army Fleet Safety e-training
  • Must pass a criminal background check
  • Must be able to keep strict confidentiality
  • Attention to detail and excellent organizational skills required


RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Assist clients who come to Client Choice Pantry with selection of food items and tally up point totals when finished with selection
  • Be able to do intake for clients when needed
  • Provide referrals to other social services in the County
  • Help stock shelves and unload product from trucks
  • Routine office work (typing, filing, answering phones)
  • Help enter client information into Salvation Army data base
  • Assist Social Services Coordinator and Corps Officer as needed with coordinating outreach events
  • Deliver food to shut ins as requested w/driver as needed
  • Pick up smaller donations in mini van w/driver as needed
  • Pick up donations from stores in Box truck with driver as needed
  • Help keep warehouse and client areas clean (mopping, cleaning restrooms, trash control, etc)
  • Rotation of all stock in warehouse / refrigeration and freezer units
  • Order/maintain communication with Road Runner Foodbank (Feeding America)
  • Operate forklift as needed
  • Mobile food distributions monthly (Jan.-Oct.)
  • Assist w/ Angel Tree/Holiday registration/Kettles (each year/seasonal)
  • Communication / supervision w/ all community service workers under 20 hrs.
  • Foodbank hours of operation will be extended to meet needs of clients
  • Assist w/ Hygiene Station
  • Other duties as assigned as it relates to the position of Food Bank Coordinator.


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Qualified individuals must be able to perform the essential duties of the position with or without accommodation. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 15 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Must have the ability to operate telephone, a desktop or laptop computer, as well as the ability to access and produce information from a computer, and to understand written information.
